SONGS
1. LUXOR RISING (MP3 version)
Notes: "Luxor Rising" is a fusion of Middle Eastern and Western
rhythms and melody set at a very danceable 120 beats per minute. The only
lyrics are "Allah Akbar." The implied message of the song is
that there need be no divorce between Islamic spirituality and contemporary
Western concepts of joy in life and personal liberty. When listening to
"Luxor Rising," this theme is driven home with every joyful
tap of the foot, and with every smiling nod of the head.
2. EARTH CHANT (MP3 version)
Notes: "Earth Chant" is a spiritual view of our planet as seen
from space. Spiritual humanity seeks to understand God, amidst the warring
noises of technology and nature. The words and melody are from the 13th
Century chant, Ave Maria. The words are in Latin: "Ave maria,
gratia plena, Dominus tecum, benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus
fructus ventris tui, Jesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pronobis peccatoribus,
nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen." The translation in English
for this is: "Hail Mary, with grace replete, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of the womb of
thee, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and in
the hour of the death of us. Amen."
