Live Vocal Performances
In the past I was a cantor at Holy
Spirit Catholic Church in northern Atlanta. Dr.
Albert Ahlstrom, who received his doctorate in musical arts
from The Juilliard
School, is the organist with whom I usually performed. Below
are some recordings of my past performances.
Some of the titles below are linked to mp3 files of live recordings.

aria, it stands as one of Händel's most powerful, both in message
and music. In this age of increasing global conflict, Händel's
choice of words has never been more appropriate. The words are from
Psalm 2, verses 1 and 2. If you have never listenned to the words
of this aria closely, you may want to check them out.)

Afro-American spiritual, performed in a low register with a smooth
jazz feel.
2 July 2006, 8:30 a.m. mass - "Bwana
Awabariki," a traditional African folk hymn sung in both
Swahili and English, a light Summer
favorite. This hymn is often played during marriages. Read
the words.
25 June 2006, 8:30 a.m. masses - "Ave
Maria," or in Swahili, "Mtakatifu Mariamu." This
is a new version of the famous Schubert piece sung
in Swahili. The translation is arranged by Courtney Brown. If
you like things that are "new," this definitely qualifies.
