Mathematical Modeling of Social Phenomena

Dr. Courtney Brown

Assignment #13 (Honors and Graduate students only)

For this assignment, you are to present a finished model. You may use graph algebra, SAS, Phaser, or anything else you have learned in this course to construct and evaluate your model. You can estimate your model's parameters if you have data, or you can work with parameter values of your choice in an exploratory fashion (as people often do when working with chaos models). You need to write up your work as a final paper for the course, and you need to present your work in front of the class. Honors students can and should present their honors thesis as long as the work involves something relevant to the coursework. Second-year graduate students are encouraged to present a paper that serves as their independent research paper requirement for the political science graduate program as long as it incorporates mathematical modeling that is relevant for this course.
