How to Get Answers to Your Questions!

If you are an incoming freshman, now is the time to start thinking about how to combine a study of political science and math so that you can begin to plan your courses. There is a meeting during each Fall semester at Emory for those who might want to consider combining political science and math. We also sometimes have a meeting in the Spring semester as well, so keep alert for this. We will try to answer all of your questions.

There are a few ways to combine the study of political science and mathematics. First, there is the new joint major in political science and mathematics. Second, you can double major in political science and math, which is different from having one joint major in both subjects. Third, you can major in political science or international studies and then minor in math. If any of these paths are of interest to you, then we want to meet you. Also, if you do decide to follow any of these approaches, please tell this to Elizabeth Fricker in the political science office (327 Tarbutton) when you declare your political science major. Unless you tell her otherwise, Ms. Fricker will then assign me as your political science advisor so that I can help monitor your progress.

If you want to know more about studying both political science and math to become a political science professor, feel free to contact me. I and other faculty members want to know more about you. The easiest way to contact me is simply to click on the "CONTACT" link at the bottom of the navigation bar on the left of this page. We can then set up a convenient time to talk.
